Personalising A Website Portfolio
Freelancing has become a viable career choice and a lot of freelancers are developing website portfolios to showcase the services they offer and the projects and companies they have worked with. Mango & Wild, the brainchild of Amy Cook, provides digital marketing and business development consultancy and training. I was tasked to create a website that captured Amy’s personality and her talent.
The Process
Before I sat down to co-create the website, I had to identify the crucial touchpoints that can make or break customer satisfaction. Companies that hire freelancers instead of hiring in-house consultants have very specific requirements and are in talks with several freelancers before they settle on one. The website provides an edge to the freelancer’s bid, so once the user’s wants were identified I set about creating a website that was customer-centric.
Creating Magic
Taking inspiration from the company name, I selected a colour palette that was both fresh, clean, and vibrant at the same time. Pale pink with muted and dark browns and hints of green provided the base colours for the website and the logo. I chose contemporary minimalistic images that were attractive and told the story that Amy wanted to tell. I used my SEO strategy for the content, making the website easy to navigate for a smooth customer experience through multiple calls to action.
